We hope your move out go as planned. Here are a few key items to keep in mind for a successful move out.
Ensure the apartment/home is left generally clean, this includes the flooring, appliances, closets, oven, fridge and bathroom. Pay special attention to clearing and wiping up any spilled items in the refrigerator.
Ensure any areas of the walls that were drilled to install safety devices are refilled with wall compound and sanded. If left unfilled this will be considered damage.
Ensure all garbage is disposed with the city. If any garbage is left behind it must be neatly packaged and left for disposal in the city approved bags/receptacle for the next garbage collection day. All refuse that cannot fit in a garbage bag or considered hazardous waste by the municipality should not be left in the apartment and needs to be disposed of at your own expense.
Ensure all belongings are removed. Anything you brought into the unit must be taken with you.
If ever in doubt just put yourself back to the point where you rented the unit and ask yourself ...
Am I leaving the unit in the same general condition I received it in when I 1st moved in?
After all is said and done, this is exactly what you agreed to do when you 1st signed the lease.
